During my recent city break at Aux 500 Diables Eco Lodge, I was enchanted by the stunning countryside location amidst the breathtaking Massif du Sancy. The picturesque route leading to the lodge was an experience itself, enhanced by the friendly cows roaming the hills—an authentic touch of rural charm that put a smile on my face. Although the free Wi-Fi could be a bit unstable at times, the communication from the staff was warm and attentive. Our room featured beautiful mountain views, but we found it a tad small for comfortably unpacking our luggage; the lack of privacy in the shower was another minor drawback. Nonetheless, the restaurant offered delicious local cuisine, which felt heavy for me after a day of exploring, yet still satisfying. For couples or friends looking for an escape, the lodge provides a serene ambiance with opportunities to unwind on the terrace, especially on those cool mountain summer days.
